About the Role
The role is responsible for participating in the creation and development of collections, from initial concept through to pre-industrialization, ensuring adherence to the product plan while meeting deadlines and budgets. The goal is to support the creative development of collections in line with the quality, style, and values of Maison Alaïa.
Responsibilities
- Construct the knitwear collection with the design director.
- Manage the creation and completion of models for the knitwear category.
- Participate in the research and development phase.
- Create 3D mock-ups and propose new volumes, finishes, and details aligned with the brand's identity.
- Perform Photoshop simulations of looks and models.
- Collaborate closely with the studio, development team, and workshops throughout the collection creation and development process.
- Oversee the launch and development of models at the factory.
- Ensure the completion of models, including finishing touches, considering material suitability and maintaining overall coherence within categories.
- Prepare for and participate in fittings, ensuring model conformity during technical fittings.
- Actively participate in look sessions.
- Maintain and update work documents for effective information transfer (e.g., boards, collection plans, Fabric to Sketch).
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a Luxury House and specifically in the knitwear product category.
- Strong product sensitivity.
- Flexibility, autonomy, initiative, organization, dynamism, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to manage unforeseen events, and rigor.
- Fluent English; Italian is a plus.
- Frequent travel in Europe is expected.
