About the Role

The Back Parts Counter Representative is responsible for providing customer service and sales assistance in accordance with company policy. You will act as the primary interface with retail and wholesale customers as well as service department employees to sell the required parts and accessories.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and sales assistance.
  • Act as the primary interface with retail and wholesale customers and service department employees.
  • Sell required parts and accessories.
  • Ensure Service Technicians have required parts readily available.
  • Maintain an unparalleled level of detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Focus on customer and Technician satisfaction while ensuring profitability.
  • Strive to grow the dealership and your career by setting monthly and annual goals for the Parts Department with the Parts Manager and reporting on your progress.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and practices.
  • Ability to interact well with others and be a positive influence on morale of department, dealership, and organization.
  • Lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required and/or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed.
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basis.
  • Ability to hear and talk.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion.
  • Works evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent and one-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of one year's experience working in the service drive or at an auto parts retailer or wholesaler.
  • Valid Driver's License.
