About the Role

The Finance team at CSG has been restructured to create a more integrated, agile, and resilient function, with clearer roles, stronger accountability, and enhanced career development opportunities. The new team structure strengthens our ability to sustainably meet the evolving demands of the University, providing clearer professional disciplines, defined career pathways, and greater opportunities for progression.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery of financial performance in partnership with the School in line with the University Financial Plan.
  • Influence decision-making, drive change and foster collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder and budget management.
  • Financial planning, forecasting and year-end delivery.
  • Training for budget holders.
  • Provide insightful financial reporting and analysis, including staffing, student numbers, Programme profitability and business cases.
  • Ensure robust controls, compliance, value for money and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • Degree educated (or equivalent experience) with significant accounting expertise and strong financial management skills.
  • Customer-focused, highly organised and able to manage competing priorities to tight deadlines, working independently with sound judgement.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills are essential.
  • Ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders and solve complex problems.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, accountability, governance, compliance and value for money is key.
  • Qualified accountant status and post-qualification experience are desirable.
