About the Role

QuadReal is seeking a Co-op/Intern, Cybersecurity to assist in daily operations, discover and document security issues, review and respond to security events, and help manage and optimize IT security systems. The role offers opportunities to implement new security solutions, conduct audits, and perform vulnerability assessments within an evolving IT environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Cyber Security team.
Participate in the discovery and documentation process of security issues.
Review security events of interest and respond to them with guidance.
Assist in managing and optimizing existing IT security systems.
Assist in the implementation of new security solutions.
Assist with auditing and security metric reporting.
Conduct technical vulnerability assessments.
Provide innovative solutions to problems and improve processes and tools.
Monitor IT security solutions to ensure efficient and appropriate operations.
Respond to Cyber Security incidents and help update incident handling procedures.
Examine logs and reports of IT devices to identify suspicious activity.
Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve security-related issues.
Make recommendations and/or implement improvements to IT security operations.
Investigate and identify potential security vulnerabilities.
Document identified security vulnerabilities, associated risks, and remediation steps.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in a post-secondary degree program such as Cyber Security, Computer Science.
Proficient knowledge with Windows Operating Systems, Anti-Virus and email protection software, IT security testing tools, Active Directory and Azure AD, Cloud based IT services such as Office 365, OSI model.
Ability to allocate time effectively, work under pressure, and manage deadlines.
Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities.
Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment.
Organized, detailed oriented, and a self-starter.
Excellent communication, oral and written skills.
Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships.
Ability to be flexible and work with all types of personalities.
Ability to exercise confidentiality and prioritize client services.

Previous experience in an IT related environment, Service/Help Desk, conducting research into IT security issues and products is an asset.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
