About the Role
CE Workforce Program Associates are responsible for vocational and academic instruction in a variety of fields and topics. They play a pivotal role in creating an environment where students are treated with respect, encouragement, and integrity. Associates will attend trainings, development days, staff meetings, and assist students as needed.
Responsibilities
- Work with students to improve their knowledge or career skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop or modify curriculum for degree or certificate programs.
- Assess student progress by grading assignments, papers, and exams.
- Advise students on class selection and goal achievement.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Establish and enforce clear rules for behavior and procedures to maintain a learning environment.
- Meet with students to discuss progress, priorities, and individualized educational needs.
- Meet with students outside of class hours as needed.
- Maintain professional competence through staff development, curriculum development meetings, and other professional opportunities.
Requirements
- Must maintain a domicile in the State of Texas while employed.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Reliable transportation for local Austin area travel.
Skills
- Maintaining an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills, including tact, diplomacy, and valuing all contributions.
- Proficiency in various spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
