About the Role
BRG's Disputes & Investigations practice is seeking a Senior Associate with expertise in forensic accounting, global investigations, discovery, forensic technology, M&A, private equity disputes, and cybersecurity. The role involves leveraging data science skills, machine learning, and big data tools to detect and prevent fraud, particularly within the e-commerce, payments, healthcare, and banking industries. The ideal candidate will also identify and address client needs by developing anti-fraud strategies, managing engagement teams, communicating with stakeholders, and fostering client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Leverage SQL, Python or R, data science skills, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, and social network analysis.
- Demonstrate experience with big data tools such as Hadoop and PySpark, cloud computing, and cloud machine learning tools.
- Apply knowledge of the anti-fraud business domain in the e-commerce, payments, healthcare, and banking industries.
- Develop fraud detection rules and/or models deployed in systems such as Actimize, FICO Falcon, SAS Fraud Management, or other platforms.
- Utilize data visualization tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, or QlikView.
- Evaluate new tools and products that enhance risk detection and prevention.
- Apply subject matter knowledge to develop and prioritize anti-fraud strategies, analytics, models, and operations.
- Manage engagement teams and competing priorities in a fast-paced, results-based team environment.
- Communicate with business, risk, compliance, operations, technology, and analytics stakeholders on client engagements.
- Foster positive working relationships with clients and work effectively with client management and staff.
- Use presentation materials to convey complex ideas to clients and internal staff.
- Manage engagements, including preparing concise and accurate documents and maintaining project economics.
- Provide candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner.
- Keep leadership informed of progress and issues, answer questions, and provide direction to junior staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Engineering, Accounting, Computer and Information Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Processing/Analytics/Science.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience working in regulatory investigations, internal investigations, and compliance remediation work.
- Ability to submit verification of legal right to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
