About the Role
MG+M The Law Firm is seeking an experienced mid-to-senior level attorney for its Professional Consulting Practice Group. This role involves providing risk management, claims monitoring, and strategic advice to architects, engineers, and their professional liability insurers, focusing on complex infrastructure projects and associated risks and disputes.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized risk management and claims avoidance mitigation advice.
- Conduct contract reviews and seminars.
- Investigate, evaluate, and monitor the defense of complex professional liability claims.
- Serve as a liaison to underwriters and senior claim adjusters.
- Offer strategic input and evaluation of defense strategies.
- Perform independent exposure evaluations.
- Develop and manage resolution strategies.
- Interface with clients, insurers, and project participants.
- Negotiate claim resolutions.
- Evaluate, manage, and provide strategic direction on significant construction disputes and litigation.
- Engage in risk management of high-value claims on large, complex projects.
- Engage and manage local counsel.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and industry experts to resolve complex disputes.
Requirements
- Experience in complex civil litigation, claims management, interaction with insurers, or involvement in the design or construction industry.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice in any of the 50 United States.
- Interest in construction projects.
- Capable of independent work.
- Organized and efficient work habits.
- Superior research and writing skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to analyze complex matters.
