About the Role
Marsh McLennan is seeking a Counsel to provide strategic and tactical advice to Marsh McLennan Agency businesses, focusing on commercial contracting and associated matters. The role involves reviewing and negotiating various agreements and collaborating with business and legal teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and tactical advice to Marsh McLennan Agency US/Canadian businesses.
- Advise on commercial contracting and associated matters.
- Review and negotiate client service agreements, consulting agreements, statements of work, insurance carrier appointment contracts, and Non-Disclosure Agreements.
- Review Requests for Proposals and prepare compliant responses.
- Communicate company and legal department policies and approval processes for contract changes to in-house clients.
- Draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements with clients from all industry sectors.
- Contribute to and reinforce the Marsh McLennan Legal, Compliance & Public Affairs (“LCPA”) Department’s Strategic Plan and initiatives.
- Promote an ethical culture where employees are encouraged to voice their concerns and opinions.
- Exercise sound judgment.
Requirements
- Be a Member of the Bar of a Canadian province or US state.
- Law degree from an accredited law school.
- At least 2+ years’ experience at a law firm or in-house at a reputable company, with a focus on commercial contracting.
