About the Role
Redfin is seeking an Android Mobile Software Engineer to join a passionate team building engaging experiences to help users find their next home. The role involves supporting infrastructure for app speed and stability, and developing customer-facing features for mobile interaction with the home buying experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex, technical projects that change the way people make one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
- Collaborate with teammates by reviewing code, writing documentation, refining best practices, and building maintainable and testable codebases.
- Work closely with product and design teams to understand user and business needs.
- Drive the team forward in iOS best practices and design principles, bringing in industry trends where applicable.
- Use approved AI code generation tools to document, architect, and create code.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and ensure service reliability, potentially including nights and weekends.
Requirements
- 3+ years of development experience with at least 2 years of native Android experience.
- Practical experience building Android applications in Kotlin and Java.
- Solid understanding of computer science and engineering fundamentals.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across distances and experience levels.
- Ability to disagree constructively with respect for everyone’s opinions and ideas.
- Stay on top of what's happening in the iOS community and look for ways to improve products.
- Passion for well-architected, clean, well-written code.
- Experience with running experiments and experimentation frameworks is a plus.
- Experience using AI code generation tools such as GitHub CoPilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
