About the Role

The Senior Data Product Manager owns a defined area of the EPH product estate, focusing on attributes that enable product sales. This role involves a greenfield build for a digital product lifecycle solution to publish digital product data across various markets, complementing existing book and journal data. It's a delivery-focused position requiring close collaboration with business and engineering colleagues, with a secondary focus on coaching analysts.

Responsibilities

Engage stakeholders to elicit requirements and translate them into clear, actionable specifications.
Capture and articulate business value to ensure work is prioritized based on outcomes.
Make prioritization and scope decisions for maintenance, delivery, and roadmap trade-offs.
Build relationships with business and engineering teams and manage internal consumers.
Write clear, testable requirements with a focus on clarity, constraints, and success criteria for AI-assisted delivery.
Coach and develop analysts, support onboarding, and contribute to recruitment.
Own a product area, shaping roadmap priorities, success measures, and long-term planning.
Contribute to data governance practices, system onboarding, and documentation.

Requirements

Experience writing clear, well-constrained requirements and specifications.
Interest in adapting practices to AI-assisted delivery methods.
Track record of operating independently, owning a product or workstream end-to-end.
Ability to make prioritization and scope calls under ambiguity.
Curiosity and sound judgment, with the ability to work effectively from incomplete information.
Adaptability to changing priorities.
Proven senior stakeholder management experience across business and engineering teams.
Deep knowledge of data management practices, including MDM, data governance, and metadata management.
Demonstrated experience coaching and developing junior or mid-level analysts.
Product management or product owner experience is beneficial.
Familiarity with academic publishing or large federated enterprise MDM environments is beneficial.
Practical experience with an MDM platform is advantageous.
