About the Role

AECOM is seeking a professional to manage the Design Management Team, support leadership, and lead Design Management projects across the UK and internationally. This role involves managing sub-consultants, implementing design management procedures, and contributing to business planning and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Design Management Team and support team leadership.
  • Assist in business development and team performance reviews.
  • Supplement Team Leaders in their absence.
  • Manage AECOM financial processes and invoicing.
  • Contribute to DM business planning and monitor team progress.
  • Lead Design Management projects across the UK and internationally.
  • Assist in the development of Design Management team members through mentoring, training, and reviews.
  • Review work outputs from the Design Management team for quality and compliance.
  • Prepare responsibility matrices for sub-consultants.
  • Draft and distribute sub-consultant back-to-back contracts.
  • Manage updates to sub-consultant contracts and prepare final documents.
  • Prepare and update cash flow projections.
  • Establish procedures for sub-consultant invoice submission and monitor.
  • Track and report on sub-consultant invoice progress and prepare monthly Financial Reports.
  • Establish and implement Design Management Procedures including roles and responsibilities, scope delineation, design programmes, deliverables, quality, budgets, change management, approvals, project meetings, design workshops, and design coordination.
  • Achieve AECOM PM accreditation and manage design projects in accordance with AECOM financial systems.
  • Contribute positively to the Performance Review process, taking ownership of agreed actions and pursuing training opportunities.
  • Assume responsibility for the delivery of specific objectives agreed during performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Understanding of the design process.
  • Project and design programming skills.
  • Experience in development and implementation of design management tools and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness of projects.
  • Construction knowledge/experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Project/Excel/InDesign.
  • All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
