About the Role

Classical California, a leading public media organization for classical music, seeks a Marketing Coordinator to engage a diverse audience. This role focuses on brand storytelling, live events, and digital marketing, developing email campaigns and exploring new audience engagement strategies through CRM, PR, and events. The position supports live music events and ensures the efficient operation of the marketing department.

Responsibilities

  • Writes and/or edits copy for department marketing projects including publications, advertisements, press releases, and announcements.
  • Manages email marketing, including writing and editing the twice-weekly newsletter.
  • Manages, coordinates, and assists in running live events, including staffing and managing marketing assets.
  • Administers the department marketing calendar, monitoring schedules and production details.
  • Collaborates with the business office to gather vendor quotes, issue P.O.s, and reconcile marketing expenses.
  • Coordinates activities to promote awareness of department services and products to the university community and the public.
  • Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates marketing efforts for effectiveness.
  • Coordinates the design, production, and distribution of publications and promotional materials.
  • Establishes and maintains contacts with internal and external marketing professionals and vendors.
  • Coordinates the work of contracted vendors, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Coordinates the use of surveys and other market research instruments.
  • Compiles and analyzes information, preparing reports for management review.
  • Administers marketing budgets.
  • Coordinates advertising placement and schedules.
  • Coordinates appropriate use of university and department logos and branding.
  • Researches and prepares budget proposals for marketing purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in marketing, or combined experience/education as a substitute.
  • Experience in marketing, publications, public relations, business administration, communication, advertising, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
