About the Role
As a Field Property Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for assisting customers through the claims process after property damage, providing hands-on assessment and empathetic support. This role offers a dynamic and varied work environment.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and evaluate onsite to resolve complex coverage and damage issues, preparing complete estimates of repair.
- Inspect roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and basements for damage.
- Handle moderate to complex claims independently from first notice of loss to final closure.
- Work in the field daily, occasionally handling assignments from the desk.
- Explain coverage of loss and assist policyholders with itemization of damages, emergency repairs, and additional living arrangements.
- Coordinate with vendor services such as contractors and cleaning services.
- Potentially be called upon for catastrophe duty.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of claims handling procedures and operations.
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Ability to effectively and independently manage workload with good judgment.
- Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills with the ability to work with multi-faceted systems.
- Ability to obtain proper licensing as required.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and organize your day.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of building construction principles.
