About the Role

As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for the design and user-centricity of complex specialist applications, portals, and information offerings in the Public and Health sectors, as well as regulated private industries like the energy sector. You will bridge customer requirements, user research insights, conceptualization, and visual implementation, thinking strategically about design and driving design processes.

Responsibilities

Oversee the design process in client projects, from vision and design language definition to final UI.
Create visually and functionally demanding user flows and interfaces for complex applications, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and implementability.
Provide strategic consulting to clients and project teams on digital product development, integrating user perspectives and market observations.
Manage design systems throughout their lifecycle, ensuring team adoption through documentation, contribution rules, reviews, and training.
Advise clients, moderate workshops, and make design decisions understandable to non-design stakeholders.
Take creative lead on proposals and tenders, and present in pitches.
Utilize AI tools within the design process and share experiences with the team.
Provide technical leadership for small UX/UI teams in client projects, offering guidance through design reviews, quality assurance, and mentoring.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in conceptualizing and designing digital products with a focus on UX and UI design.
Completed degree in Communication Design, Interaction Design, Media Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a comparable qualification.
In-depth experience in developing, applying, and advancing design systems, with a strong understanding of quality and visual style.
Proficiency in UX methods, designing complex digital applications, and understanding digital accessibility requirements.
Experience collaborating with development teams in agile environments and moderating workshops.
Experience presenting design solutions to clients and stakeholders.
A strong portfolio showcasing work from problem definition to final interface, including experience with design systems.
Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
