About the Role

You will own the architecture of our macOS platform and build its screen-context engine, which is the foundation that helps every feature understand what is happening on a user’s screen. You will solve the hardest desktop systems problems and create primitives that improve Flow on macOS.

Responsibilities

  • Build a reliable screen-context engine for dictation, Notetaker, Instruct Mode, and future products
  • Set technical direction across accessibility, native integrations, memory, state, and background behavior
  • Solve difficult performance, correctness, and cross-application failures
  • Expand what Flow can understand while protecting performance and user privacy
  • Turn OS-specific knowledge into durable foundations other engineers can extend

Requirements

  • Designed a system or platform other engineers successfully built on
  • Recently shipped meaningful production code for a desktop application
  • Debug unfamiliar systems from first principles
  • Owned a quality or UX metric, not only a feature roadmap
  • Turn ambiguous technical problems into clear direction for a team
  • Prior experience with voice, ML, Electron, accessibility APIs, or macOS is not strictly required if you bring exceptional platform depth.

About the Company

  • Wispr is an AI research and product company building the voice interface for computing.
  • Our first products are Flow, which lets you speak naturally in any application, and Notetaker, which builds context across conversations.
  • We’re building toward an interface that can perceive, understand, and take action with earned trust.
  • We’re a talent-dense team that holds strong opinions, tests them quickly, and builds technology that sparks joy.
  • Our goal is to build the first voice interface used every day by a billion people.

Equal Opportunity

  • We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every qualification.
  • We're rethinking how humans interact with AI, and doing that well demands diversity of perspective and experience.
  • We're committed to a fair and accessible interview process. If you need any accommodations or adjustments, please let us know.
