About the Role
Responsible for providing personal care services, conducting group activities, and preparing and distributing meals to Adult Day Services participants.
Responsibilities
- Provides personal care services including toileting, transferring, personal hygiene, and dressing under nursing staff supervision.
- Escorts participants between group vans and the center.
- Monitors participant conditions and behaviors, reporting unusual observations to appropriate staff.
- Encourages and assists participants in engaging with activities and assists in planning and conducting special events.
- Prepares snacks, beverages, and meals, including cutting and grinding food as needed for individual participants.
- Distributes meals in appropriate portions and discards unused portions according to policy.
- Assists with post-meal cleanup.
- Performs other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Experience in providing personal care to frail or disabled adults or working with older adults with Alzheimer's disease or dementia.
- Food service experience and previous experience in a day care program are preferred.
- California Home Health Aide certificate or Certified Nursing Assistant certificate are highly preferred.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate in Cantonese and simple English.
- Must pass a strength test for physical fitness, including the ability to lift up to 40 lbs from floor to waist level.
- Must have TB clearance within 12 months of employment and maintain annual clearance.
- Must acquire CPR and First Aid certificates within 6 months of employment and maintain current certificates.
