About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead the design of Workbench, our decision-intelligence platform for warehouse and fulfillment systems. This role involves end-to-end ownership from concept and research through to UI, focusing on creating intuitive experiences for complex data and trade-offs. You will set design standards, drive decisions, and influence the product's direction.

Responsibilities

Plan and conduct user interviews, synthesize findings, and translate insights into actionable design decisions.
Map user journeys and flows, create wireframes and prototypes, and iterate based on feedback.
Develop polished, high-fidelity mockups and visual designs that are consistent, accessible, and on-brand.
Own and advance the design system for a web-based engineering tool, defining component architecture, interaction patterns, and conventions.
Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers throughout the product lifecycle.
Build interactive prototypes to test concepts prior to development.
Clearly present design rationale and decisions to senior stakeholders and clients.
Define and uphold studio standards for research, accessibility, and visual craft, conduct design critiques, and mentor designers.
Structure dense, multi-variable interfaces using information architecture and progressive disclosure.
Design for uncertainty and trade-offs, making optimization output, scenario comparison, and conflicts legible to users.
Develop multiple credible design approaches, weigh them against best practices, and set the pattern for the portfolio.

Requirements

8+ years of experience designing digital products, with at least 3 years as the design owner for a complex enterprise or technical web product end-to-end.
Demonstrated depth in data-dense, web-first product design, with a portfolio showcasing experience with complexity (interdependent controls, large data volumes, expert workflows).
Evidence of multiple design approaches to challenging problems, with clear reasoning for chosen solutions and trade-offs.
Experience designing decision-support, analytics, simulation, planning, or configuration-heavy tools.
A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design work and design judgment.
Advanced proficiency with Figma, including component architecture, variables, and interactive prototypes.
Deep understanding of usability principles and accessibility standards (WCAG).
Experience building, owning, or significantly extending a design system.
Experience leading design in fast-moving B2B or SaaS product environments, including 0-to-1 work under ambiguity.
Experience setting design standards and providing actionable critique.
Eligible to work in Canada.
