About the Role
The Business Systems Analyst role will report to the Leader of Process and Operational Excellence, contributing to the operational oversight of Real Time Rail payments systems. This position is crucial for understanding business needs, translating them into technical requirements, and ensuring system solutions align with business processes.
Responsibilities
- Understand business needs, problems, objectives, and desired outcomes.
- Gather and document requirements through interviews, workshops, and process reviews.
- Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, including user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Analyze business processes, mapping current and future states, and identifying areas for improvement and automation.
- Recommend process improvements.
- Translate between business and IT, explaining technical concepts to business stakeholders and business requirements to technical teams.
- Resolve ambiguity to ensure shared understanding of requirements.
- Define system solutions that support business processes, evaluating configuration, customization, and new functionality.
- Support development and implementation by clarifying requirements for developers and reviewing proposed solutions.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and demos.
- Help manage scope and requirements changes.
- Develop or review test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Support system/integration testing and UAT, validating delivered solutions against requirements.
- Help investigate and resolve defects.
- Facilitate workshops and decision-making.
- Manage conflicting requirements and priorities.
- Obtain stakeholder approval/sign-off.
- Maintain requirements, process diagrams, decision logs, and system documentation.
Requirements
- 3 to 4 years of experience working as a Business Systems Analyst.
- Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
- Successful completion of background checks, including Canadian Criminal Credit Check, Canadian ID Cross-Check, Public Safety Verification, 5-year Employment Verification, Education Verification, Credit Check, and Social Media Check.
