About the Role

Corporate Finance Valuation Summer Associate positions are 8 weeks in length, beginning Summer 2027. Candidates must have an expected graduation date between December 2027 – August 2028. These positions are in BRG’s New York and Boston offices. BRG Transaction and Valuation Opinions provides valuation services for transaction opinions, portfolio valuation, tax and financial reporting, litigation, and special situations to a diverse client base including hedge funds, private equity funds, and corporations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze historical and projected financial information.
• Develop detailed financial models to value companies and investments.
• Aggregate and organize large data sets in Microsoft Excel.
• Leverage financial and market data software platforms such as Capital IQ and Bloomberg.
• Research and develop a view on the competitive advantages and disadvantages of clients in their respective industries.
• Develop a solid understanding of GAAP and related SEC reporting requirements for investors and corporations.
• Consistently meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
• Maintain an organized, methodical, and professional demeanor.
• Take ownership in the work product.
• Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
• Communicate project status and results both internally and externally.
• Demonstrate report writing skills.
• Participate in a team environment and collaborate to share responsibilities towards attainment of team goals.
• Actively seek out opportunities for practice development projects and personal leadership skill development.
• Actively participate in BRG’s business development activities, including client meetings and presentations.
• Expand your network with clients to become a trusted and reputable advisor.

Requirements

• Progression towards a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other related field of study.
• Strong problem solving and project management skills.
• Ability to work well independently or in a team dynamic.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Mature presence, empathy, intellectual curiosity, and ability to learn quickly.
• Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.5.
• Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
