About the Role
MUSC Health – Midlands Division is seeking a skilled and collaborative Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Orthopedic Surgery team in Columbia, South Carolina. This role offers a dynamic mix of clinical responsibilities in a supportive environment that emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Manage orthopedic inpatients in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and hospital teams
- Conduct daily rounding, patient evaluations, admissions, consultations, and discharges
- Assist with perioperative care coordination and postoperative management
- Support orthopedic surgical workflows and continuity of care across inpatient services
- Participate in patient and family education to optimize recovery and outcomes
- Collaborate closely with nursing, rehabilitation, case management, and ancillary teams
- Contribute to a culture centered on teamwork, efficiency, and patient-centered care
Requirements
- Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Orthopedic, surgical, hospital medicine, or acute care experience preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient management skills
- Passion for delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care
