About the Role
As a Solutions Engineer at Box, you will empower yourself to sell to business and IT leaders across all sectors, taking ownership of crafting customer-centric solutions. You will collaborate with the account team to define and expand revenue opportunities, ensuring solutions are ready for cross-company deployment. You will also serve as a vital link between Sales and Product, relaying customer feedback to Product Management, Operations, and Engineering at Box. This role is based in the San Francisco office, supporting Enterprise clients to expand our footprint and penetrate new accounts.
Responsibilities
- Research, explore, and identify customer business problems, thinking like a builder to experiment, iterate, and refine for exceptional customer experiences.
- Own the technical win in your account and drive the technical deal forward.
- Understand product integrations and MCP servers.
- Lead demos articulating the value of Box's full suite of solutions (BoxAI, Box Web, Mobile, Shield, Relay, Sign, Governance, Canvas, Platform, and more).
- Act as a technical quarterback managing the extended team from a solution standpoint.
- Showcase strong business acumen and communicate the value of the Box solution to the customer.
- Support field marketing events as a Box SME and presenter.
- Travel up to 50% to engage with customers in territory.
Requirements
- 4 year degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 5+ years of pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting experience within SaaS, enterprise software, AI, or cloud platforms.
- Proven experience with Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems, architectures, and content lifecycle workflows.
- AI-curious and technically fluent — comfortable discussing LLMs, embeddings, automation, and context and prompt engineering concepts with both technical and business audiences.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to establish trust across a range of technical and non-technical audiences; passionate about showing, not just telling and designing demos and narratives that make the power of Box AI tangible.
- Ability to learn, understand, and communicate complex technical concepts and develop skills to create compelling solutions that demonstrate business value.
- Displays follow through, stamina, and effort in every step of the sales cycle.
- Shows creativity when solving a customer's business problem; experiment, iterate, and refine to make every customer experience exceptional.
- Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, languages, and modern architectures (REST, OAuth, JSON, Python, Javascript etc.) is a plus.
- Experience working with low code no code automation such as Nintex, Zaphier, Workado, n8n.
- Boxers are expected to work from their assigned office a minimum of 3 days per week.
