About the Role

Point is establishing a new AI Enablement function, which this leader will manage alongside DevOps and platform practices. This role involves overseeing the reliability, delivery, and cloud foundations essential for a lending business, while also building a central hub to partner with corporate functions and operations for AI-driven automation and augmentation. The position offers a unique opportunity to define how the company adopts AI across its daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the infrastructure platform and shared-services organization, driving key initiatives across SRE and infrastructure.
  • Own reliability, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), release tooling, and observability, including incident management and security/compliance (SOC 2).
  • Establish and manage AI Enablement as the central hub, including the sanctioned platform, guardrails, reusable components, and core builds.
  • Collaborate with corporate functions and Operations to identify high-value workflows and design agentic AI solutions (LLM-based agents, tool calling, RAG, orchestration, and n8n / Zapier / custom integrations).
  • Partner closely with IT and Security to ensure enablement is safe and compliant, covering sanctioned tooling, access, and data-handling for sensitive functions.
  • Drive adoption of team-shipped solutions by defining success metrics, baselining, and measuring impact (e.g., capacity reclaimed, cycle time, cost per loan, stickiness).
  • Define multi-quarter roadmaps aligned with measurable business outcomes.
  • Stay updated on AI and automation advancements, adjusting the roadmap based on user feedback and new technical capabilities.
  • Set technical and quality standards through architecture guidance and review.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in DevOps, platform, SRE, or infrastructure engineering with strong technical depth.
  • 3+ years leading and growing engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience shipping AI automations to production, including LLM agents, tool calling, RAG, and workflow orchestration.
  • A track record of tying automation or platform work to quantifiable business outcomes.
  • Production proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Strong observability and incident-management practice (Grafana, Datadog/NewRelic, or PagerDuty).
  • Technical fluency to guide and review engineering and automation work (e.g., Python or equivalent).
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to build trust with non-engineering stakeholders like Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Operations.
  • Experience building a new function or team from scratch in a high-growth, high-ambiguity environment.
  • Experience in Fintech or other regulated industries, with familiarity in PII handling and SOC 2.
  • Experience with process improvement or RPA partnership.
  • Knowledge of lending or mortgage operations.
