About the Role
Exciting opportunity to work at Ocean Downs Casino, located near the beaches and boardwalk of Ocean City, MD. This is a full-time, year-round position with an excellent compensation package, offering a fun environment and the chance to work with an overnight team while ensuring guest enjoyment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all Security Officer job responsibilities.
- Ensure guest, employee, and property safety through constant vigilance and patrolling grounds in a security vehicle.
- Assist in the transfer of monies between areas as needed.
- Utilize knowledge of fire and safety equipment for emergency situations.
- Follow procedures for key management, alarm protocols, lost and found, found money, unattended children and pets, visitor badge control, radio inventory, and armored car arrivals.
- Understand and implement Mantrap procedures.
- Handle administrative duties including daily summary sheets, lunch/break schedules, post assignments, and office supplies.
- Utilize proper telephone, radio protocol, and intercom system for clear announcements.
- Employ excellent customer service skills and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Enforce State Lottery Regulations, Internal Controls, and company Policies & Procedures.
- Assist Supervisors with training programs for Security Officers.
- Review and record security department reports.
- Oversee and assist Officers in assigned areas.
- Enforce security procedures at assigned posts when requested.
- Promote professional relationships with Department Managers, Supervisors, Surveillance, and MLGCA Compliance Agents.
- Maintain knowledge of current casino and racetrack promotions.
- Keep assigned area neat and clean.
- Promote honesty and trust amongst the team.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Three months of gaming and/or racing security experience required.
- Valid driver's license and compliance with company Motor Vehicle Policy.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Sufficient English proficiency for job functions.
- Ability to comprehend, retain, and execute written, verbal, and demonstrated directions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and management.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Maryland State Lottery Agency License.
