About the Role
Crusoe is seeking a Sr. Manager, Communications to lead storytelling for the teams that site, power, and build Crusoe's AI factories. This role sits at the center of our Digital Infrastructure Group (DIG), Energy, and Real Estate organizations, driving the narrative around how and where we build the physical backbone of AI. You'll dive deep into the AI infrastructure buildout and translate it into compelling stories that elevate Crusoe's work while protecting our brand. You'll partner closely with Public Affairs and Government Affairs teams on community engagement. This role requires mastery of messaging and storytelling, a "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach to execution, and a meticulous eye for detail. We are an AI-first company and are looking for a practitioner who views generative AI as a core part of their toolkit.
Responsibilities
- Drive a strategic news program that demonstrates momentum across Crusoe's data center development, energy, and real estate work.
- Build and maintain direct relationships with journalists across infrastructure, energy, real estate, technology, and financial media.
- Pitch and place stories independently.
- Partner closely with Public Affairs and Government Affairs teams to support community engagement in the markets where we build.
- Partner with subject matter experts across DIG, Energy, and Real Estate to sharpen messaging.
- Translate complex topics across site development, power, construction, and data center operations into compelling stories for a range of audiences.
- Work with Crusoe's spokespeople to develop and place high-impact op-eds, keynote scripts, and social content.
- Monitor the media and community landscape closely and coordinate timely, strategic responses to industry shifts, local dynamics, and challenges.
- Help manage our PR agency relationships day-to-day focused on your line of business.
- Own communications reporting, tracking coverage, share of voice, and program outcomes.
Requirements
- 7+ years in communications or public relations, with a demonstrated track record of securing press results at top-tier outlets.
- Experience working in data center construction/development, energy, infrastructure, real estate, or AI industries is strongly preferred.
- You have real, working relationships with journalists and influencers.
- You know how to pitch, place, and protect a narrative on your own.
- Your ability to write with nuance, clarity, and human insight is non-negotiable.
- You are comfortable executing with limited resources and high ambiguity.
- You proactively identify opportunities and build the plan without waiting for a roadmap.
- You know how to build trust across functions (DIG, Energy, Real Estate, Public Affairs, Legal) and move fast without stepping on toes.
- You are metrics-driven and accountable, with a track record of turning communications efforts into measurable business outcomes.
