About the Role
Academy of Art University is seeking a full-time Class B Driver to safely transport students, faculty, and staff between campus locations. This role requires excellent customer service and a strong commitment to safety while operating various transit vehicles on San Francisco streets.
Responsibilities
- Transport students, faculty, and staff between facilities on time according to schedule
- Ensure bus safety by adhering to vehicle and traffic safety regulations
- Perform safety inspections before and after every shift
- Follow regulated procedure for all accidents and breakdowns
- Maintain bus cleanliness throughout shift
- Reflect courteous and helpful image at all times
- Call out stops
- Return all lost and found items to security
- Maintain neat and clean appearance
- Comply with all DOT and FMCSA requirements
- Comply with all Academy policies and procedures
- Maintain a commercial Class B license, certification(s) including passenger endorsement without airbrakes, and testing as required by DOT and FMCSA
Requirements
- Possess and maintain a valid California driver's license with passenger endorsement
- Be ensurable through ArtU insurance carrier
- Ability to successfully pass a driving test
- Possess a minimum of two years of professional passenger driving experience, preferably in San Francisco
- Be friendly, patient and enjoy interacting with others
- Ability to be vigilant while driving throughout downtown San Francisco
