About the Role
This summer internship offers Business, Engineering, Math, and Economics majors valuable real-life experience within the dynamic electric & natural gas utility industry at Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation. Interns on the Demand-Side Management team will gain hands-on experience through impactful assignments, one-on-one mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and networking opportunities. The role supports New York State's transition to clean energy by designing and implementing energy efficiency, electrification, and load management programs for various customer types.
Responsibilities
- Gain insight into Central Hudson’s leading energy efficiency, electrification, and load management programs.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders, including contractors, trade allies, industry partners, the NYS Department of Public Service, and other utilities.
- Engage directly with Central Hudson customers to support program participation and understanding.
- Contribute to efforts that enhance grid reliability, sustainability, and customer empowerment.
Requirements
- Majors from Business, Engineering, Energy Systems Management, Sustainability, Math, or Economics programs will be considered.
- Candidates must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Currently be an undergraduate student working on their bachelor’s degree in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year.
- Graduate students working on their master’s degree will also be considered.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
