About the Role
The Handyman is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents and ignites the warmth of human connection.
Responsibilities
- Execute general repair and maintenance work including painting, plastering, basic plumbing, woodworking, and electrical work.
- Clean, scrub, strip, and wax floors in hallways, stairways, and common areas.
- Empty garbage and recycling receptacles and ensure proper storage of recycling materials.
- Maintain building exterior, grounds, and parking lots.
- Remove snow on sidewalks and doors and apply salt for safety.
- Mow and water grass, tend to flower gardens, and apply fertilizer as needed.
- Complete appropriate forms and documents, writing required reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Certification, training, and work experience in building repairs, painting and finishes, floor care, safety procedures, property maintenance, plumbing, heating and air conditioning.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Proven customer service skills.
- Excellent command of verbal and written English language.
- Sound knowledge of the operation and maintenance of equipment used in the residence.
- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
- Must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.
