About the Role
NYSERDA seeks an experienced individual to join its Clean Transportation team as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager to lead the design and delivery of innovative programs that advance transportation electrification in New York State, working in partnership with public and private sector entities. The role focuses on expanding electric vehicle charging installations across the state.
Responsibilities
- Administer the Charge Ready NY program, overseeing implementation contractors, managing the program budget, and adapting program rules.
- Administer the Drive Clean Rebate program, overseeing implementation contractors, managing the program budget, and adapting program rules.
- Coordinate with internal NYSERDA teams to execute contracts, write scopes of work, and modify program documents.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for program improvement, including streamlining processes and addressing equity in transportation.
- Manage data collection and reporting on program activity related to EV and EV charging rebate programs.
- Provide guidance and insights to program participants to advance their projects.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with market stakeholders and represent NYSERDA in collaborative initiatives.
- Perform all job responsibilities with respect, fairness, consistency, and inclusion.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Assistant Project Manager: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
- Project Manager: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience managing complex projects in the clean transportation or clean energy space.
- Strong project management skills, with program design and process improvements.
- Subject matter expertise in transportation electrification, and a passion for issues related to clean transportation and equity.
- Demonstrated ability to independently and simultaneously manage a wide range of innovative and complex projects under deadline, including developing and managing workplans and budgets and overseeing consultant work products.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and manage work for both contractors and internal teams.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Salesforce preferred.
- Preferred: Master’s degree and 1 year of relevant experience for Assistant Project Manager.
- Preferred: Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience for Project Manager.
- Experience working with a broad spectrum of both public and private sector stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of electric vehicles, EV charging, and the process for installing charging stations.
- Experience negotiating contracts and writing scopes of work with third party partners and/or consultants.
- Experience using Salesforce and other project management software tools.

- $73,902 to $101,118 (Assistant Project Manager)
- $81,858 to $137,206 (Project Manager)
