About the Role
Lab Alley is seeking a hardworking, organized, and safety-conscious Shipping Associate to join their team. This role is crucial in ensuring products are safely and accurately prepared for customers, contributing to the company's vision of becoming the 'Amazon of chemicals'. The position involves handling chemicals in a safe, controlled environment with comprehensive training provided.
Responsibilities
- Pack, measure, weigh, and label items for shipment or storage.
- Follow all company guidelines and packaging instructions to ensure safety and product integrity.
- Identify and dispose of defective items before they are shipped to customers.
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks in the workstation and warehouse.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Clean, prep, and inventory supplies for packaging.
- Willingness and ability to comply with all regulatory safety and environmental requirements.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Frequently perform tasks requiring climbing, bending, crawling, kneeling, and crouching.
- Must adhere to long periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to use arms and hands for tasks such as reaching, signaling, grabbing, lifting, turning, pushing, and pulling.
Skills
- General understanding of Hazmat regulations.
- Proficiency in all Hazmat regulations and packaging procedures.
- Ability to verify Hazmat paperwork for accuracy.
- Ability to perform Hazmat inspections.
- Ability to mentor and train all levels of Shipping Associates.
- Prior chemical handling experience.
- Prior Hazmat shipping experience.
- Prior mentoring/training/leadership experience.
