About the Role
Smith Pump Company is hiring an Application Engineer in Austin, TX. This role serves as the technical point of contact for municipal water and wastewater pumping projects, managing projects from initial specification review through delivery. The position is office-based with periodic travel to Waco for training.
Responsibilities
- Review plans and specifications and select pumps, motors, and related equipment.
- Prepare estimates and quotations, and enter sales and project orders.
- Serve as the technical advisor to the outside sales team and customers.
- Purchase equipment and materials for projects and coordinate submittals and information flow.
- Manage projects through delivery, ensuring they remain on budget and on schedule.
- Resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with sales, accounting, and operations to ensure project progression and customer communication.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical specifications.
- Willingness to travel to Waco for training as needed.
