About the Role
Grand Circle Corporation is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join their Core Services team. This platform-focused group builds and modernizes services powering customer-facing platforms. This is a hands-on role focused on solving complex problems, improving existing systems, and contributing to modern, cloud-based, microservice architecture.
Responsibilities
- Take hands-on ownership of end-to-end development of backend services and APIs.
- Design and build scalable, secure, reusable, and maintainable microservices.
- Modernize legacy capabilities by migrating functionality to a cloud-based services architecture.
- Drive technical projects from concept through delivery, partnering with stakeholders.
- Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
- Develop high-quality, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Build and improve APIs and integrations supporting core capabilities.
- Evolve engineering practices, architecture, and technical roadmap.
- Support production applications and services through monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers.
- Work with Azure and modern cloud technologies to develop and deploy highly available services.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with strong experience building backend applications, APIs, and services.
- Strong backend development experience in .NET/C# or another modern backend language (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, etc.).
- Experience designing and developing microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-based services.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, SOLID principles, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
- Experience designing scalable, performant, secure, and maintainable solutions.
- Experience with Azure or another major cloud platform.
- Comfortable working across unfamiliar technologies and learning new tools and frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity.
- Ability to take technical ownership and drive projects forward with autonomy.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with Git-based development workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
