About the Role
Maintain hotel guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas in good repair through various trade tasks including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering, and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.
Responsibilities
- Inspect guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-the-house for areas needing repair, touch-up, or replacement.
- Repair or replace items such as light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting, or other miscellaneous items.
- Assist other department team members in the preventive maintenance program.
- Record repairs made or areas needing further attention.
- Maintain inventory of supplies.
- Report major repairs and unrepairable items to the dispatcher.
- Place rooms out of order if necessary.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned, such as water-proofing, shop clean-up, and labeling of hazardous materials.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain any government-required license, permit, or certificate.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of service standards.
- Regular attendance is essential.
- Ability to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by OSHA laws, including safety glasses, gloves, protective work boots, and hard hat as needed.
- Report defective, damaged, or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.
Skills
- Knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment.
- Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
- Basic English language communication skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Additional language ability preferred.
