About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join the accounting team of a dynamic company in the freight forwarding industry. This is a hands-on accounting role for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and contributing across a variety of accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Performing bank and General Ledger reconciliations and researching discrepancies.
- Assisting with month-end closing activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Preparing cash projections and monitoring daily cash activity.
- Reviewing and processing accounting transactions, including invoices and payments.
- Tracking and reporting daily sales transactions to ensure accuracy.
- Assisting with internal and external audits and providing supporting documentation.
- Supporting financial reporting and other general accounting activities.
- Working closely with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
- Assisting with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with General Ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system and strong Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach.
- Freight forwarding or logistics industry experience is preferred.
- Experience with inventory or cost accounting is a plus.
