About the Role
Seeking a Default Recovery Officer to manage mortgage default scenarios and legal enforcement processes by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires strong organizational skills, efficiency, and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Discharge Statements or Statements of Arrears by reviewing received funds and ensuring system costs are up-to-date.
- Order and coordinate occupancy inspections for properties.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with Property Managers, Lawyers, and other stakeholders, providing necessary documentation and information.
- Maintain updated files with detailed notes, invoices, documents, and deadlines per company standard operating procedures.
- Contact Borrowers via call, text, and email to arrange repayment for missed mortgage payments, property tax, and/or condominium fee payments.
- Complete assigned duties accurately, thoroughly, and timely, with attention to detail in data entry and numerical values.
- Work independently and collaboratively to meet service levels.
- Be flexible and supportive in taking on additional tasks as requested by Management.
- Participate in duties supporting the management of the Legal portfolio to meet targets and objectives.
- Achieve exceptional results daily while upholding high ethical standards and compliance with policies and legislation.
- Respond promptly to team members' requests for assistance.
- Act in accordance with the company’s core values, Code of Conduct, and internal policies and standards.
- Engage in the highest standard of business conduct and ethics.
Requirements
- 2 years of collections and legal experience preferred.
- Mortgage experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of contract terms and other contract documentation is an asset.

Education Level
