About the Role
Basis is seeking a Finance Generalist to understand the business, support leadership in decision-making, and build operating systems for rapid scaling. This role involves cross-functional collaboration across finance, revenue operations, go-to-market, product, and engineering teams, reporting to the Head of Finance. The position requires owning financial models, reporting on business and financial performance, evaluating investments, and implementing automations for finance team efficiency. A key aspect is leveraging AI and automation as core tools for building models, dashboards, workflows, and systems to enhance decision-making speed and quality.
Responsibilities
- Own key financial models.
- Report on business and financial performance.
- Evaluate pricing or new investments.
- Stand up new automations to increase finance team efficiency.
- Use AI and automation as core tools to build models, dashboards, workflows, and lightweight systems.
- Increase the speed and quality of decisions through AI and automation.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of experience, ideally starting in investment banking or a similarly rigorous analytical environment.
- Subsequent in-house experience in strategic finance, revenue operations, or a similar function at a high-growth B2B software, fintech, AI, or technology company.
- Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Ability to connect detailed work to a clear strategic point of view.
- A builder's mindset: create systems from scratch, automate repetitive work, and improve team operations.
- An AI-native working style and a track record of using AI and modern tools for efficiency and leverage.
- Strong business judgment, including identifying critical questions and balancing rigor with speed.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Confidence to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations for leadership.
