About the Role
Mother Root is seeking a Business Operations Lead to streamline operations and implement AI-driven solutions. This role involves identifying and eliminating inefficiencies, building and maintaining operational systems, and ensuring data quality. You will work directly with the Lead to establish a new function within a fast-growing company, focusing on building systems to support expansion.
Responsibilities
- Keep the operating system running, managing the Notion workspace for structure, permissions, templates, and database hygiene.
- Own and manage the Ways of Working Log, triaging friction points and ensuring actions are completed.
- Maintain the SOP library, ensuring it is current and relevant.
- Manage the company's tech stack, ensuring accuracy of tools database and appropriate access.
- Ensure data quality across operational databases.
- Identify and eliminate repetitive administrative tasks using smarter processes, AI, or automations.
- Test AI use cases and develop prompts, playbooks, and training sessions for team-wide adoption.
- Manage the implementation of agreed improvements, including planning, task management, communication, training, and follow-up.
Requirements
- Experience building something with AI (e.g., an agent, automation, prompt library, or tool).
- Possess a systems thinking approach, understanding how different parts connect and striving for order in messy information.
- Prioritize understanding how people work before building systems, identifying underlying pain points.
- Demonstrate follow-through and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to find alternative solutions when faced with obstacles.
- Keen observation skills to identify and fix issues like broken links, stale documents, or incorrect data.
- Clear written communication skills, capable of explaining systems to non-technical audiences.
- Curiosity and a proactive approach to understanding how things work and addressing issues.
- Ability to manage projects, including planning, chasing stalled tasks, and providing status updates.
- Hands-on experience with Notion is useful.
- Experience in a fast-moving business where building processes was necessary is useful.
