About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Product Engineer to help set technical direction and build the next version of our products. This individual contributor role requires significant influence in defining standards, shared enablers, and interfaces, while being hands-on with the most critical technical challenges.

Responsibilities

Establish engineering standards across Model Authoring pods, documented and actively referenced in code review.
Set and own the technical direction for the team's shared enablers, including model representation, persistence, registry, secure context access, and shared agentic infrastructure.
Establish technical interfaces between Model Authoring and other business parts, ensuring dependencies are agreed, documented, and progressing.
Work hands-on on the most challenging problems within the stream, actively contributing code where risk is highest.
Help define and evolve the team's AI-native working practices, determining the division of labor between agents and humans and the required evidence.
Visibly support and elevate engineers around you, providing design input and contributing to their growth.

Requirements

Experience working in an AI-native environment and a desire to continue doing so, including practical use and experimentation with AI/agentic tools.
A product-focused approach, understanding user needs, pain points, and the connection between technical decisions and commercial outcomes.
Proven ability to set technical direction amidst ambiguity, owning architecture in novel domains and making decisions with imperfect information.
Experience owning significant technical challenges or services end-to-end, including detailed understanding of trade-offs and design choices.
Demonstrated ability to influence across teams, holding positions under challenge, listening to feedback, and persuading others.
Effectiveness in working across distributed teams, building relationships and influence across different office locations.
Experience in developer experience work, ideally building tools for developers or actuaries, including internal initiatives.
Comfort with setting technical direction in ambiguous situations and making decisions with imperfect information.
Excitement about defining the future of software engineering and embracing new tooling and ways of working.
Alignment with the company's culture, demonstrating commitment and conviction.
