About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Engineering Manager to join our Billing & Monetization Team. You will lead the team that powers how our agentic AI products are metered, priced, and billed, building the systems that turn AI usage into reliable, transparent revenue for a fast-growing category-defining company.

Responsibilities

Lead an engineering team through outcomes, setting clear goals and trusting them to execute.
Improve team performance by raising the engineering bar, growing engineers, and addressing performance issues.
Drive significant improvements in team capabilities by tackling harder problems and increasing quality.
Lead the team responsible for building credit, metering, and billing systems for AI products.
Own the technical direction and architecture of the billing and monetization platform.
Guide the team in designing and scaling real-time metering and integration systems.
Partner with Product, Finance, and Engineering to translate monetization strategy into technical implementation.
Make architectural and technical decisions and stay close to the code.
Lead the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices within the team.
Shape the team's scope and potentially stand up new teams.
Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, documentation, and operational excellence.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience leading and managing engineering teams.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a software engineer.
Seasoned user of AI development tools with hands-on fluency in AI-assisted coding and agentic coding harnesses.
Experience building billing, metering, payments, or monetization systems.
Empowerment style of management, leading through outcomes and trust.
Strong product aptitude and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and cloud native development.
Experience operating systems in production with a focus on accuracy, reliability, observability, and maintainability.
A track record of growing engineers and creating high-performing teams.
Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset.
