About the Role

Ferrero is seeking a Canada BU People Business Partner to serve as the primary HR point of reference for the Canada Business Unit, based in Toronto. This role partners with the local Leadership Team, ensuring compliant application of employee relations, HR policies, performance management, recruitment, and development. The position offers a high level of autonomy, acting as a bridge between the local team and US headquarters, and includes direct report management.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with managers and employees to resolve employee relations issues, guide decision-making, prepare corrective actions, and facilitate terminations.
  • Apply employment standards requirements and legislation for consistency and compliance.
  • Provide employee relations support and coaching on HR practices, including attendance and harassment investigations.
  • Recommend employee relations practices to foster a positive employer-employee relationship and high morale.
  • Conduct exit interviews for leadership and managerial positions.
  • Lead investigations into employee complaints or concerns.
  • Advise leadership on the progressive discipline system and counsel on employment issues.
  • Manage all leaves of absences per ESA and benefit provider guidelines.
  • Lead the definition of return-to-work plans in partnership with the business and H&S.
  • Ensure completion of New Employee Progress reports and annual performance evaluations, guiding leadership as needed.
  • Act as a guide in employee coaching sessions.
  • Guide managers in preparing employee individual development plans and ensure consistent monitoring.
  • Oversee the BU recruitment process, including resume review, interviews, and hiring recommendations.
  • Manage Headcount and Budget for the Canada BU.
  • Manage employee onboarding sessions.
  • Prepare P&O content for annual employee training sessions.
  • Develop, roll out, and ensure achievement of training plans for the Canada BU.
  • Ensure timely communication of all organizational announcements.
  • Monitor organizational culture to support company goals and promote employee satisfaction.
  • Lead the deployment of the biannual You Survey, communicate results, and develop action plans with People Experience support.
  • Implement action plans developed from You Surveys.
  • Participate in, guide, and manage Employee Initiatives and Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives within the Canada BU.
  • Research community services and educate employees.
  • Lead the implementation of Safety and Security initiatives for the Commercial force and local functions with COE support.
  • Guide Canada BU leadership and managers during the annual salary review process for salaried employees in coordination with Professional Family PBPs.
  • Guide recognition programs approved by Group/Area.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of increasing experience as a People Business Partner.
  • Leadership team presence (Plant, Location, etc) preferred.
  • CPG experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related fields required.
  • Master’s Degree a plus.
  • CHRL designation preferred.
