Responsibilities
- Assist members with TruWest product, service, and account information.
- Perform branch opening and closing duties.
- Conduct teller duties.
- Open new accounts and deposit products.
- Process loan applications.
- Verify information on deposit applications.
- Approve/decline service applications in compliance with credit union policy.
- Manage existing members and book of business to support relationship retention and growth.
- Sell deposit and loan products, and make referrals to investment and mortgage products.
- Monitor daily activity and compile statistical reports.
- Investigate and handle error resolution.
- Maintain and balance a cash drawer and daily negotiable instruments.
- Present a professional image and maintain a flexible schedule.
- Provide spontaneous service excellence, demonstrating the TruService Philosophy.
- Identify member needs through profiling and promote appropriate products and services.
- Manage lobby traffic and provide personalized service.
- Utilize the Lobby Tracker app.
- Accurately complete and process product/service/loan applications.
- Open all deposit accounts and originate/book loan products.
- Understand Business Accounts, IRAs, and other special accounts.
- Understand Xpress Accounts and LoansPQ.
- Educate members about financial choices and offer appropriate products/services.
- Perform Notary and Signature Guarantee transactions.
- Adhere to all credit union policies and procedures.
- Conduct outbound sales calls to existing and potential members.
- Answer incoming calls and assist members.
- Create and maintain a book of business.
- Process source documents, checks, and negotiables.
- Understand the electronic check process and anti-fraud software.
- Demonstrate and assist members with eServices.
- Provide operational support at assigned and other branch locations, including Saturdays.
- Cooperate with co-workers and managers.
- Handle member transactions and complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and members.
- Utilize downtime productively.
Requirements
- Requires education associated with a high school diploma.
- Passing of Certifications, A – D of the TruAchievement Branch Program (if participating).
- Minimum of one-year Teller II or similar related sales experience at a financial institution.
Skills
- Good sales and referral abilities.
- Advanced knowledge of TruWest products, services, and account requirements.
- Knowledge of credit union policy and procedures.
- Knowledge of basic lending regulations.
- Ability to perform math calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of negotiable instrument elements.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the TruWest computer system.
- Advanced PC skills (including navigating within appropriate websites).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to project a professional image, in dress, appearance, and behavior.
