About the Role
The Data Destruction Technician is responsible for the secure and safe destruction of client data using software erasure or physical methods, and assisting with physical grading of IT assets.
Responsibilities
- Erase or shred HDDs
- Image devices
- Record condition and grade
- Input all data into ERP
- Monitor erasure software
- Provide recommendations and actions to improve the department and outcomes
- Participate in offsite projects as appropriate
- Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Great communication skills
- Detail-oriented and consistent
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Previous warehouse experience preferred
- Experience with sanitizing/testing HDDs and SSDs preferred
- Experience troubleshooting issues with enterprise-grade information systems (servers, networking equipment, storage arrays, etc.), laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
- Ability to stand for long periods, squat, twist, bend, and lift between 10-50 lbs. (or more) regularly
