About the Role

GWLRA is a leader in the commercial and multi-residential real estate industries, focused on creating vibrant, sustainable communities. This role supports a large commercial portfolio in Toronto, overseeing all construction projects from planning to post-construction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale, multi-faceted capital projects using project management principles.
  • Conduct site meetings and inspections, collaborating with consulting/engineering firms.
  • Monitor contractor performance and verify work completion.
  • Ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Assist in construction execution, ensuring fulfillment of contractual obligations.
  • Maintain up-to-date project records in Yardi's Construction Manager (CM).
  • Manage third-party project management companies, ensuring projects are on time and budget.
  • Conduct tendering and tender analysis using CM, prepare RFQ & RFP submissions, and negotiate contract terms.
  • Assist in creating long-term capital plans and establishing annual capital budgets.
  • Forecast and prepare budget conversions for accounting and generate monthly development status reports.
  • Direct workflow, delegate tasks, and oversee in-house and contract staff, including trades and third parties.
  • Build strong relationships and act as a mentor to staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of direct project or construction management experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working with Yardi.
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science and/or Project Management is an asset.
  • Proven knowledge of the construction process is an asset.
  • Candidates with a PMP designation or equivalent will be given priority.
  • Superior relationship building skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally and confidently with various internal and external parties.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to consult and recommend appropriate action based on previous experience.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to reduce environmental footprint.

  • $65,800.00 - $109,700.00
