About the Role

The Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is seeking two full-time Chef de Partie positions to join their Food & Beverage Department. One role will oversee general kitchen operations, while the other will focus on the banquet kitchen. Both positions report directly to the Executive Chef.

Responsibilities

  • Manage culinary operations to ensure quality, consistency, and safety standards.
  • Prepare basic components of menu dishes using established recipes.
  • Memorize and adhere to serving portion sizes and basic meal prep procedures.
  • Ensure kitchen, food prep, and storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards.
  • Collaborate with chefs to perform portion prep work for other shifts.
  • Monitor product freshness and rotate stock according to schedule.
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Serve as a role model, building trust, respect, and cooperation among staff.
  • Promote teamwork and synergy between front-of-house and kitchen staff.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the culinary team in various dining styles.
  • Collaborate with kitchen management on food cost and waste reduction.
  • Optimize facility, equipment, and labor utilization through planning, scheduling, ordering, and inventory control.
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Club safety policies.
  • Conduct oneself in alignment with the Well Played service model (Prompt, Personalized, Polite).

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Cook 1 or similar role in a hotel, multi-faceted operation, private club, or hospitality environment.
  • Solid experience in a banquet kitchen is required for the Chef de Partie (banquet) role.
  • Must possess Canadian Red Seal and Sanitation certifications.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, unionized environment.
  • Must be able to work weeknights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
