About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic BIM Specialist to join our Water team on a full-time basis in our Toronto office.
Responsibilities
- Develop Building Information Models for water and wastewater infrastructure design using Revit 3D modelling software.
- Lead the implementation of RVA’s BIM execution plan and develop/update BIM standards across all water and wastewater projects.
- Ensure BIM execution plans are produced and maintained for each project.
- Perform quality reviews of BIM deliverables.
- Work with linear and vertical design teams to develop BIM standards and specifications.
- Educate team members on standard BIM procedures, processes, and new methodologies.
- Prepare and review REVIT design and as-constructed/record drawings for projects.
- Create REVIT models/drawings from mark-ups or based on instructions.
- Translate mark-ups/sketches into drawings consistent with company standards.
- Check drawings for consistency with standards and plot final drawings.
- Correctly label final work drawings.
- Update contract drawings and specifications.
- Perform as-constructed surveys and review them.
- Prepare as-constructed drawings.
- Communicate with other disciplines on a project-by-project basis.
- Assist in field activities to gather project information as necessary.
- Perform other duties as required for the position.
Requirements
- A graduate of a recognized BIM Management program.
- A graduate of a 3-year college level civil engineering technologist program or a 2-year civil engineering technician program is considered favorably.
- 0-3+ years of relevant experience, preferably with process mechanical systems.
- Experience with municipal water and wastewater facilities is an asset.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Adept at producing plan/section drawings using AutoCAD is required.
- Experience using REVIT is required.
- Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
