About the Role
Be the mentor who helps students strive for academic excellence by empowering them to do their best, overcome challenges and work to develop the skills to become lifelong learners. In this position, you will support enrollment, student development, and retention services while ensuring a quality learning experience. Career Counselors manage a group of assigned students and coach each through their academic or vocational program. Career Counselors provide a trusted environment where students can share their thoughts, aspirations, concerns, and interests.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Well organized with great attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to be self-motivated.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and common computer software (Microsoft Office and other career options and job search applications).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education, vocational training, and/or experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-to-year basis.
- Must possess a New York State Valid Driving License with an acceptable driving record.
