About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Consultant to join Savills’ Environment & Infrastructure Team. The ideal candidate will have experience in either climate change and/or air quality, and be looking to expand their technical and commercial skillset to meet current project needs and further grow our GHG impacts and air pollutant modelling services. This role will be delivering climate change and air quality assessments for major development and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will support the preparation of planning and consenting documentation, including projects within the NSIP and DNS regimes, while contributing to wider environmental services such as EIA, Health Impact Assessment and sustainability advice. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical and strategic consultancy across sectors including renewable energy, carbon capture, transport, water and utilities. Working alongside Savills’ broad spectrum of planning, environmental, sustainability and land agency experts, this is an excellent opportunity to help develop our service offer. Savills expects regular office presence and encourages internal networking and team building and we are currently looking to strengthen our presence in the Environment & Infrastructure team hubs of London and Brighton.
Responsibilities
- Delivering climate change and air quality assessments for major development and infrastructure projects across the UK.
- Supporting the preparation of planning and consenting documentation, including projects within the NSIP and DNS regimes.
- Contributing to wider environmental services such as EIA, Health Impact Assessment and sustainability advice.
- Providing technical and strategic consultancy across sectors including renewable energy, carbon capture, transport, water and utilities.
- Helping to develop the service offer within the Environment & Infrastructure team.
Requirements
- Experience in either climate change and/or air quality.
- Experience delivering climate change and air quality assessments for major development and infrastructure projects.
- Experience supporting the preparation of planning and consenting documentation.
- Experience working with projects within the NSIP and DNS regimes.
- Experience contributing to wider environmental services such as EIA, Health Impact Assessment and sustainability advice.
- Experience providing technical and strategic consultancy across sectors including renewable energy, carbon capture, transport, water and utilities.
- Experience working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working alongside planning, environmental, sustainability and land agency experts.

- Based in our planning division, we support our colleagues and clients with the challenges of consenting essential infrastructure, with a primary target sector of net zero, including carbon capture, renewables, hydrogen and water.
- We also provide specialist technical services in climate change, health and air quality to all types of projects such as new towns, commercial hubs, logistics and datacentres.
- We work closely with Savills Earth, our specialist sustainability division, which includes experts from Engineering & Design Consultancy, Property Management, Energy Consultancy, Social Value, Energy Procurement, Environmental Economics and Research.
- The team has a number of existing appointments on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) across various project sectors including CCUS, hydrogen, renewables, water, waste water, railfreight, power transmission, and ports.
- We have a strong history of advising on NSIPs, DNSs, Section 36 projects, SIPs and similar, as well as conventional TCPA projects.
- Our climate change and air quality team also supports the whole range of urban masterplanning, commercial and industrial projects nationally across all Savills’ planning teams.
