About the Role
As a Social Media Editor, you will be an integral part of our editorial team, responsible for the social media presence within a specific area of our journalistic content, whether focused on politics, society, or business.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute social media activities for designated formats and personal brands.
- Develop social-media-friendly narratives and creative content formats across text, image, and video.
- Translate journalistic content and complex topics into concise, platform-appropriate formats.
- Write original social media copy, adapt content for various channels, and repurpose social content into longer formats like website articles or storytelling pieces.
- Identify trending topics with social media potential and prepare them editorially for optimal platform performance.
- Monitor social trends and online discussions, assessing relevance for the Pioneer community.
- Engage with the readership, moderate discussions, and enhance reach and relevance.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in social media or editorial roles, preferably within a journalistic context.
- Exceptional language skills and journalistic understanding, with the ability to convey complex topics clearly, precisely, and concisely.
- Proficiency with all common social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, etc.) and a deep understanding of their specific requirements.
- Experience in content production with a strong command of video, photo, and editing tools.
- Enjoyment of community interaction, confident moderation of discussions, and curiosity for new platforms and formats.
- Creative approach, initiative-taking, and a drive for innovative ideas to present content boldly.
- Proactive and forward-thinking with the ability to work independently and take responsibility for project execution, both individually and as part of a team.
