About the Role
This position performs, or assists in, the development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance, and operation of the system and its equipment to meet the mission and objectives of the organization. It coordinates the evaluation of system failures and appropriate resolutions to support operations on unplanned maintenance. The role ensures gas distribution systems are designed to high quality standards, providing safe, reliable, competitively priced, and environmentally sound gas service. This position shares accountability with peers in the strategy, development, and design of the organization’s Life Cycle Plan.
Responsibilities
- Develops tactical plans and implements strategic plans for the group to ensure risk reduction, asset condition improvement, and compliance with energy and pipeline legislation.
- Participates in the development of integrity management programs, including data quality control reviews.
- Supports changes in philosophy, design approach, or business practices regarding asset risk management.
- Analyzes data and develops reports and innovative solutions for projects and risk reduction.
- Tracks and analyzes engineering and project costs and risk profiles to improve the risk management process.
- Implements and monitors gas compliance programs, including corrosion control and leak surveys.
- Coordinates with and supports various risk and safety-related groups within Eversource.
- Provides regulatory and legislative support, including answering interrogatories and witness testimony.
- Participates in incident investigations to determine root causes of failure, conduct after-action reviews, and recommend mitigation plans.
- Supports the development of annual capital budgets and 5-year long-range plans through collaboration with stakeholders and assists with presentations to senior management.
- Supports Eversource Gas’s mission, strategy, and values, providing direction or assistance in carrying out assignments.
- Coordinates resources required to complete processes or projects.
- Performs other assignments supporting the Company as needed.
- Responds to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs, which may include assisting during an emergency outside of normal responsibilities, work hours, and location.
Requirements
- Requires theoretical and conceptual knowledge of discipline to develop and evaluate a process, procedure, or regulatory requirements in the gas distribution business.
- Requires an understanding of Company structure and business practices to implement procedures.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT as necessary.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- This is a Safety Sensitive position and subject to random drug testing.
- Work involves calculating, comparing, technical writing, editing, planning, evaluating, interpreting, organizing, consulting, analyzing, designing, documenting, specifying, coordinating, implementing, and presenting.
- Ability to perform multiple simultaneous activities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with significant business commitments and results.
