About the Role

Vita Mojo's Self-service Kiosks, Point of Sale (POS) terminals, printers and payment devices sit in hundreds of restaurants across the UK and Europe. This role is responsible for managing the fleet through MDM platforms, running maintenance routines, fixing remotely, and documenting learnings to ensure device uptime and health.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the endpoint estate through MDM platforms.
  • Run a maintenance routine to catch and fix faults proactively.
  • Diagnose and fix devices remotely.
  • Document learnings to improve future fixes.
  • Own a scheduled maintenance cycle for OS and firmware currency, certificate and license expiry, storage, and temperature.
  • Perform day-to-day MDM administration including enrollment, retirement, policy management, and version control.
  • Maintain the device configuration baseline and correct drift.
  • Plan and execute estate-wide changes in controlled waves with rollback plans.
  • Perform Android system-level work including zero-touch enrollment, kiosk and lockdown modes, permissions, and ADB diagnosis.
  • Tune the Android environment by managing installed software, disabling unnecessary services, and controlling updates.
  • Extend the life of older hardware.
  • Own and maintain the asset register, ensuring accuracy of serial numbers, naming conventions, location, warranty, and lifecycle state.
  • Produce estate reporting for vendor, client, and internal conversations.
  • Act as third-line hardware escalation for the support team.
  • Provide remote technical support for third-party field engineers.
  • Attend client sites when a fault cannot be reproduced remotely.
  • Create runbooks for recurring fixes and maintain the device knowledge base.
  • Work the test backlog and chase open vendor defects.
  • Cover the Hardware Solutions Engineer on defined areas.
  • Join a support rota as the managed service offering launches.

Requirements

  • Managed devices at scale through an MDM or endpoint platform (e.g., Intune, Jamf, Esper, EloView, SOTI, Workspace ONE).
  • Technical understanding of Android at a system level or ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to think in terms of estates: compliance state, configuration drift, patch currency, asset accuracy.
  • Curiosity about device performance issues.
  • Experience with hardware used outside the office (POS, kiosks, payment terminals, printers, handhelds).
  • Proactive documentation and follow-through on tasks.
  • Ability to hold technical conversations with vendors and push for adequate solutions.
  • Experience with Android Enterprise (device owner mode, zero-touch enrollment, managed Google Play) is a plus.
  • Experience with specific hardware (Elo, Zebra, Sunmi, Epson, Star, payment terminals) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with ADB, logcat, scripting, or basic SQL for device data is a plus.
  • Experience with Android performance or footprint work is a plus.
  • Experience supporting unattended devices in the field is a plus.
  • Experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality technology is a plus.
