About the Role
Assist in the evaluation of large environmental datasets, interpretation of site characterization data, statistical and spatial data analysis, and contaminant fate/transport and exposure modeling to quantitatively evaluate human health and/or ecological risks. Support the preparation of reports and other written communications.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the evaluation of large environmental datasets for a wide variety of traditional, as well as emerging (e.g., PFAS), or proprietary chemicals.
- Observe how to interpret site characterization data.
- Perform statistical and spatial data analysis.
- Support contaminant fate/transport and exposure modeling to quantitatively evaluate human health and/or ecological risks.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and other written communications.
- Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
- Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
- Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software.
- Gather and summarize data for special reports.
- Collect a range of straightforward samples and undertake testing as directed and in accordance with defined processes and requirements to support regulatory compliance activity.
Requirements
- Planned completion of Master or Bachelor degree in related field of Science, e.g., Biology, Toxicology, Ecotoxicology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field in 2028.
- Knowledge or experience in ecological or human health risk assessment, environmental fate and transport modeling, statistical data analysis and sampling design, emerging contaminants (e.g., PFAS), natural resource damages assessment is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with spreadsheet and database software.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills required.
